Released in April 2025, the single "A Tail on the Heart" showcases the most pop-oriented sound Rubens has delivered to date, bringing forth a melodious quality reminiscent of Spitz - one of the band's openly cited influences. The track added a fresh dimension to the band's musical identity. Then in June, they followed up with "Thirsty days" a new single that has already become a live staple and fan favorite. Despite being built solely around guitar, bass, and drums, the track delivers an alternative rock sound full of Rubens signature twists and playful edge.     Formed in Tokyo in 2022, the band commenced activities with its current lineup, consisting of Serena (Vo/Gt), Etsu (Gt), Mary (Ba), and Matsumaru (Dr), in April 2023. To date, they have released eight singles and two EPs. Their breakthrough single, Tenshi-san, released last year, garnered significant attention both domestically and internationally, with its music video surpassing 1.2 million views on YouTube. They have also established a strong reputation for their live performances. Their appearance as the opening act for indigo la End and DADARAY at LIQUIDROOM last December drew considerable acclaim, and their first one-man live show at Shindaita FEVER in January of this year was completely sold out. Currently, their latest single Tsukinami-chan, which showcases a new musical direction influenced by New Wave and Post-Punk, is generating substantial buzz. Concurrent with this, their first nationwide tour is scheduled to commence in October. With their debut full-length album, MELT, slated for digital release on October 29th and as a Tower Records exclusive CD on November 5th, the band continues to draw profound interest in their future endeavors.
