Ryo Ogihara, a talented guitarist who is active in the core of the Japanese jazz scene, chose soul music as the theme of this album. A simple three-piece band formed by Jun Miyakawa (org), who is at the forefront of the jazz scene, and Yasushi Fukumori (ds), who supports the band with a bold beat, and develops a unique sound that is a modern interpretation of soul music masterpieces. Their music, recorded like a casual session with no scores and no meetings, is natural and groovy. Please enjoy a comfortable and relaxing groove.
Ryo Ogihara grew up in an environment where music is around, such as playing the piano from an early age and playing the clarinet in a brass band when he was in elementary school. At the age of 10, his father, an audiophile, gave him an acoustic guitar, and when he was a student, he devoted himself to studying various music such as jazz, rock, blues, and R & B, including playing by ear copy and ad lib. He participates in live performances and recordings of numerous artists. In 2007, he released his first leader album "Afica" recorded in BROOKLYN with NY musicians, and in 2013, released "Different Colors" produced with domestic cutting-edge musicians from "MOCLOUD RECORDS". In addition, he formed the jazz-funk unit "Dos Luna" and released four works, "Primero", "Segundo", "Tercero" and "Cuarto". In 2021, he released his latest album "With My Soul" from the up-and-coming jazz label "Days of Delight". He is an artist who is very much looking forward to what kind of music he will play in the future.
