• Ridy Hudson

  Singer song writer. Raised and born in Tokyo, Japan. She has Japanese American father and Japanese mother. The artist name Ridy Hudson was taken from her nick name "Lydia". She has been listening and watching various kinds of music and movies since her birth. All of her favorite songs and movies are American or British, and she was listening to them all in English. Beatles, the Rolling Stones, musical movies such as "Sound of Music", Disney movies, and classic music for example. Though she did not know any English word in those days, she was singing these songs by using her talented imagination and listening skill. She started learning classic ballet and the playing piano since 4 years old. She spent her time on checking "Billboard top 50" every day when she was a teenager. This experience made her an opportunity to listen many kinds of music. Beyond the genre, she met many talented artists. She started listening Country music, HIPHOP and R&B as well. Ridy moved to Dublin, Ireland, when she was eleven years old, She went to a local school there and took an enthusiastic music class, and she met the unique musical teacher. In the class, all the students stood on the studying tables with their shoes on and they danced and sang a pop music that she never experienced in Japan. This dramatically shock was encouraging her mind with not enough English skill. At the same time, she learnt how beautiful to communicate through music. Experiencing a different culture, her admiration toward English music became stronger. After she came back to Japan, she devoted her life to classic ballet again. She passed an audition held by international male ballet dancer/director Tetsuya Kumakawa, and learned ballet at his ballet studio. At that time, music was the only thing that could heal her stress coming from strict ballet lessons. Because of a great healing power of music, she was attracted to music more than before. When she entered to high school, she started to learn English and write music in earnest. She learned how to play the guitar and piano by herself for not only writing music but also for her live performance. In December 2012. She participated to INFINITY16's White Cover Album and she sang four English songs. In April 2013. She released the first mini album "Me". In October 2016. Her original song "Koe" was used by Japanese anime called "Classicaloid" from NHK E-TV. In February 2017. This anime soundtrack album "Classicaloid MUSIK Collection Vol.2" is release on 22th February.
