I wrote the original song when I was in high school. Its theme is the struggles of youth.
The lyrics are as follows.
When the rape blossoms bloom
Beyond despair, I see your outstretched hand.
I thought I shouldn't touch you, but I believed it was kindness.
Rather than taking a shortcut, I'll take the ordinary path and meet you.
No matter how lost or stopped along the way,
You were always there waiting for me.
See, can you see it?
Rape blossoms have certainly bloomed in my heart too.
I longed for you, hated you,
And on that day, I realized the guilt I carried.
But now, I feel like I can say it.
Clutching the remains of a withered love.
I hurt myself with my own words,
But in the end, you saved me.
See, can you understand?
I just laughed a little, and the flowers laughed too. Even as time passes, I can't forget those lonely memories, and they're with me. Finally, I can start walking again, my soul is singing. Now, I'm heading towards your hand. See, can you hear me? This is how I really feel. You laughed too, and picked rape blossoms in your hands.
I am a solitary songwriter, or at least a lonely one, who is active in Tohoku, Japan. With the feelings of the people affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in my heart, I want to create music that is kind to people.
