A Requiem for The Coming Disasters (feat. Minamoto Koshiro (Bugaku)) [Live at SEZON ART GALLERY, 2018]

A Collaboration performance of Japanese composer / violinist TSUMUZI and Minamoto Koshiro as the originator of 'Samurai Art Bugaku'. This is a song titled "A Requiem for The Coming Disasters" When we think about the coming disasters, any one of us can be the victim; the victim could be you, but it could also me. So this is a requiem for you and for me, and as I composed this song, I was deep in thought about my own death. And thinking about the coming disasters means giving our thoughts to victims of disasters past. For me as a Japanese, it is the massive earthquake that hit Eastern Japan in March of 2011. And when I perform this in New York, tragic incidents like terrorist attacks in 2001 will most certainly be in my mind.. And I could think of no one better as my collaborator in this performance than Mr. Minamoto, the founder of Bugaku as Samurai Art. It is because the Samurai spirit was always conscious about the last act and the Noh Art which, the Samurai loved, was a portrayal of the delicate link between this life and the afterlife.
