Left my umbrella on the bus
Sky was clear
But I just
Had this hunch
This tiny itch
That the day might pull a trick

Walked out the station
Clouds rolled in
Wind like it was in on it
Felt one drop
Then five
Then ten
Me and that bus long gone again

Guess it’s a lost umbrella Tuesday
Raining on me in a small way
Laughing as my shoes fill up
“yeah, okay”
If I could plan it
It’d go wrong too
Maybe this is what I’m used to
Little things just running off
Like that lost umbrella Tuesday

Somewhere a stranger shakes it out
Pops it open
Heads downtown
Thinks they’re lucky
Found a prize
Has no clue it saved my life

’Cause standing here
Soaked to the bone
Phone tucked in
Hands alone
Feels like the sky just called me out
Washed the extra noise right off

バスに傘を置き忘れた
空は晴れていた
でも、何となく
何となく予感がした
ほんの少しだけ
今日は何か悪戯を
仕掛けてくるんじゃないかって
駅を出て雲が押し寄せてきた
風もグルみたいに
一滴の雨粒を感じた
それから五滴、そして十滴
私とあのバスは遠くに離れ
行ってしまった

どうやら今日は
「傘をなくした火曜日」らしい
ちょっとした雨が降ってきた
靴の中が水浸しになるのを見て笑う
「うん、わかった」
もし計画できたとしても
きっと上手くいかないだろう
もしかしたら
これが私の日常なのかもしれない
小さな事が次々と消えていく
あの「傘をなくした火曜日」みたいに

どこかで誰かがそれを振って
パチンと開いて街へ向かう
ラッキーだと思った
宝物を見つけた
それが私の命を救ったなんて
知る由もない

だって、ここに立っている私は
ずぶ濡れでスマホをポケットにしまい
一人ぼっち
まるで空が私を呼んでいるみたい
余計な騒音を洗い流してくれた

今日はきっと、失くした傘の火曜日
小さな雨が降っている
靴が水でいっぱいになるのを見て笑う
「うん、大丈夫」
もし計画できたとしても
きっと上手くいかない
たぶん、これが私の慣れ親しんだもの
小さな事が次々と過ぎ去っていく
あの失くした傘の火曜日のように

たぶん、私には必要だった
ゆっくりする理由が
水溜まりを眺める
この街全体を映し出す鏡
もしあのバスをまた見かけたら
そのまま通り過ぎさせよう
私の友達

優しく雨が降っている

「大丈夫」
