This concept album uses a diverse array of musical pieces to intricately depict a narrative that unfolds from the fulfillment of love to an unsettling conclusion. The story begins with a prologue titled "Serenade," a track that serves as an homage to Schubert. This is followed by a series of compositions characterized by a classical style - drawing heavily on influences such as the canzone, waltz, habanera, and Lied - that evoke the hedonistic atmosphere of pre-war Europe. Beyond a nostalgic yearning for a bygone era, the work also aims to explore new possibilities within the realm of felt-piano music - a genre typically associated with minimalist expression.
The artwork incorporates Gustav Klimt's *Portrait of Sonja Knips* (1889).
