Born and raised in Kyoto, Ryoken Murakami is a singer-songwriter who distills the visceral essence of Black music spanning blues, R&B, soul, hip-hop, and reggae into a language and sensibility uniquely his own. With a minimalist style centered on acoustic guitar, Ryoken delivers a sound that vibrates with intense groove and a singular, polished vocal style, instantly drawing listeners into a deeply immersive soundscape. Following a period of itinerant life on the road, traveling city to city by car to perform, he now maintains multiple bases of operation across Japan.
