We don't like party, but a strong party

We don't like party, but a strong party

Still solo

We don't like party, but a strong party

We don't like party, but a strong party

Black petrol, a rising force in the music scene, has been making waves with their relentless energy-performing at major festivals for two consecutive years, hosting collaborative events with numerous bands in Tokyo and Osaka, and actively releasing new music.
Their new EP, "Insomniac Reveries", which includes the track "Howlin Collective" released last year, captures the band's journey. It reflects the members' resolve and struggles as they chose to continue creating music together even after leaving their base in Kyoto. The EP also features a song inspired by the memories of "those days," created in collaboration with ONISAWA, with whom they are actively working in Fukushima.
Spanning from their early days in Kyoto to the present in 2025, the EP is a self-produced project, from recording to mixing, packed with the band's history. This work stands out for its deeply documentary-like quality, offering a vivid snapshot of their evolution.

.Member takaosoma(Guitar), SOMAOTA(MC), ONISAWA(MC), Takehiro(Bass), Hiroki Ishio(Keyboard), almin(Drums), Daiki Yasuhara(Sax) .Profile A "nerdy and hard" HIPHOP collective "Black petrol" - reinterpreting frontier music such as Contemporary Jazz, Rare Groove and Progressive Rock with a HIPHOP sensibility. The group was formed in Kyoto's musical scene by members with high musical ability who were well versed in their respective genres while still in university. The coldness of asphalt and the warmth of human skin that leader takaosoma experienced while living on the streets as a homeless person are incorporated into poetic raps by SOMAOTA, who is highly regarded in the HIPHOP scene as a bilingual rapper, and ONISAWA, who also works as a documentary writer. The result is a "realistic" yet highly sophisticate perspective.
