The sweet trap has finally broken.

"episode.30: Broken Honey" takes the ferocious big band swing of "Honey Trap," tears it apart at its foundations, and throws the fragments into a maze of odd meters, abrupt modulations, polyrhythms and dissonance.

At first, nothing seems wrong.

A bluesy saxophone riff.
A relentless walking bass.
Razor-sharp brass.
Powerful swing.

Then one accent slips out of place.

And everything begins to collapse.

4/4 becomes 7/8.
7/8 turns into 11/8.
Then 5/4, 13/8, 9/8-

Keys shift without warning. The left and right baritone saxophones seem to inhabit different timelines, while the tenor saxophone tears across bar lines as if they no longer exist.

And suddenly, perfect swing returns.

Just long enough to make you feel safe.

Then it breaks again.

Stop.
Accelerate.
Modulate.
Collide.
Even pretend to end.

Out of the silence comes a single baritone saxophone.

A broken fragment of "Honey Trap" becomes the signal for one final runaway charge.

Every rhythm has fallen apart.
