DaybreakFreek releases their 7th single, "Stupid".
Building on the sound presented in last year's 2nd EP "KIDS INSIDE",this track further refines their incorporation of dance music elements. The result is a song that showcases an expanded sonic landscape and a deeper, more immersive world.
While DaybreakFreeks previous works have directly expressed past pain and inner struggles, "Stupid" shifts perspective - embracing those experiences with a sense of understanding and even laughing them off. The lyrics balance seriousness and playfulness, marking a clear step into a new phase for the group.
A major highlight is the contrast between DellToras low-end, spacious flow and inijinis sharp, eccentric high-pitched flow, which cuts through like a spice. Their opposing styles collide and blend, solidifying a sound that is uniquely DaybreakFreek.
The beat production, mixing, and mastering were handled by D t0cka, whose work powerfully reinforces the tracks sonic identity and atmosphere.
A five-member crew consisting of an MC, DJ, beatmaker, and creative director. Vocals are handled by DellTora (left in the photo) and inijini (right in the photo). Based in Tokyo, the group fuses the danceable grooves honed through their background as dancers with a sensibility rooted in 2000s culture, crafting a genre-defying sound. With a freewheeling approach to beat-making and lyrics that blend humor with an unfiltered, down-to-earth voice, they bring a fresh interpretation to Hyperpop.
