Beatmaker Konfig releases his second EP "BLACK PHENOMENA".

This work is a unique interpretation of elements such as Nu Metal, Hardcore, Memphis Rap, and Phonk, and is built around "House music", "Techno music" and "UK Bass music".

The EP exudes a dark and dystopian atmosphere throughout, as if depicting a post-apocalyptic world.

From tracks that skillfully weave industrial sounds to tracks that use floating trip sounds, each track stands out in a consistent dark worldview, while the EP as a whole maintains a sense of unity with a fleshy electronic sound.

While retaining the dark atmosphere shown in the first EP, this second EP contains many more experimental and aggressive works. All of them pass through Konfig's filter and can be recognized and enjoyed as a whole.

Artist Profile

  • Konfig

    Beatmaker / Producer / Guitarist Based in Tokyo. Drawing on a diverse musical background, he develops an aggressive beat style that sets him apart from the mainstream. His musical style varies across his musical activities, including his own unit Kommune, his collective 5 FEET FARM, and writing songs for MCs, rappers, and singers, allowing him to enjoy a unique style in many different ways. He primarily uses the SP404 MK2 guitar, performing in music clubs, live music venues, and more. He is not limited to Japan; he also collaborates extensively with artists from countries such as France, Australia, and Thailand, performing live and on music. His releases have been featured on London's Reprezent (107.3 FM) and Sydney's 2SER (107.3FM), as well as on NPR Music's "New Music Friday" playlist, garnering him increasing attention overseas. In November 2024, he performed his first overseas concert in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2025 he performed live on Toha Radio in Taiwan, and in August 2025 he held his first overseas independent live concert event, "PULSE in Vietnam," in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
