オルタナというフィルターを通った美しい民謡が、音響系をまとい、テクノを呑み込んだ。物語を綴るようなドラマチックなサウンドと曲構成。彼等の卓越したアレンジ能力／演奏能力の高さを伺い知る事の出来る二部構成のM2“東京に帰って”。浮遊感と開放感に溢れた、ゆらゆらソングのM3“静かに暮らす”。Quinka, with a yawnを迎えた、狂おしい程に切なくも優しいメロディーが聴く者の心を揺さぶるM4“今夜街を出よう”。陰と陽が交錯する不思議な内容の詞も興味深いM6“プラシーボ”。このアルバムのハイライトと言える壮大な世界観を兼ね備えたM10“最後の飛行船”。そして、ラストを飾るに相応しい、劇的な世界観とメロディーが響き渡る“一年のベランダ”。と、お世辞抜きに見事なまでに粒の揃った全11曲仕様。それぞれの楽曲の魅力もさることながら、アルバム全体の流れを引き合いに出しても文句ナシの完成度を誇る仕上がり。ジャパニーズ・ミュージック・シーン史上において、紛れもなく永きに渡って聴かれ続けるであろう名盤の登場だ。

    WATER WATER CAMEL is a Japanese rock band that formed in 1995. The band consists of junior high school classmates; Saito Camel (vocal, guitar and songwriting), Gen Tanabe (guitar, ukulele, banjo and effects) and Hisashi Suto (wood and electric bass). Since being teenagers, they have independently recorded and produced each of their albums in their home studio. They have also planned various events across Japan and built strong connections with people and places. Through their steady independent activities, they have created their own network all over Japan. Live performances often take place at unique locations such as botanical gardens, temples, schools or bookstores. As well as making music together, each member participates in creative side projects. Saito Camel owns a cafe in Fukuoka, Japan as well as producing songs for TV commercials. Gen Tanabe is a recording engineer and has worked for many Japanese bands, colaborating and recording. He also produces songs for television and Web pages. Hisashi Suto plays with other musicians as a professional bass player, and makes audio cables which are used for their album recording.
