After moving my creative base to Hokkaido, I experienced summer in Dohoku northern Hokkaido for the first time.
I was captivated by the energy of the people here, enjoying their short summer with all their hearts.
Summer drives from Asahikawa to the beaches of Rumoi, the Retsuka Tanabata Festival in Asahikawa, the Numata Yotaka Andon Festival, and the beautiful sunset sinking into the sea at Rumoi all of these scenes became part of the inspiration for this song.
Just before summer truly arrived, I visited Rumoi on an amazingly quiet weekday. Beneath the vast sky, the wide-open sea stretched before me, illuminated by a brilliant path of sunset light. Driving the beautiful open road from Asahikawa to Rumoi, I found myself imagining the youth, dreams, and emotions of life in northern Hokkaido.
The excitement, freedom, sense of release, festival energy, and a touch of bittersweet nostalgia found in Hokkaidos short and dazzling summer
I poured all the emotions I felt here this summer into one song.
And I feel especially happy to be creating music here in Hokkaido together with Hatsune Miku.
