Kanasayo
This work, whose title comes from an Okinawan word meaning "to my beloved," is a message song that expresses deep and heartfelt emotions for someone truly important.
During the production process, I heard news of a major fire in Hong Kong, a place where many of my close music friends and fans are. With a heavy heart, this song evolved into something more than just a message to "the loved ones right in front of us"-it became a prayer reaching out to all the people we cherish, even those far away.
For this piece, Hong Kong artist Herman wrote the Cantonese lyrics, expressing a bond that goes beyond language.
Blending the delicate sounds of traditional Asian instruments such as the sanshin, koto, and erhu, the song carries these feelings to all our beloved ones.
