Formed in December 2015.Based on a shoegaze sound, the band's sound world is like a landscape painting with flowers, plants and natural landscapes as its subject matter. In 2017, the band participated in a slowdive-approved tribute from Brazilian indie label TBTCI Records, covering the song Shine.This release began to attract attention from overseas enthusiasts. In 2018, she participated in the compilation album 'Total Feedback 2018' to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the shoegaze event 'Total Feedback', which is held monthly at Koenji HIGH.Furthermore, they performed live in Taipei with 'cruyff in the bedroom' and ZEPPET STORE Yuichi Nakamura's solo project 'LUCY'S DRIVE'. In November 2020, plant cell's music was broadcast as a Japanese shoegaze band in a BBC radio programme celebrating the 30th anniversary of the birth of shoegaze in the UK.
