「Winter Story」

23年前に統合失調症と診断され精神障害者として生きてきた経歴を持つ私が、北海道の厳しく美しい冬にこそ出会えるいのちの在り方と心象風景を、自身の心のフィルターを通し表現しました。

フィールドレコーディングした小鳥たちの囀りや波の環境音と作曲した音楽で構成されています。

音楽の編曲と調整をしてくださったのは私が音楽を始めるきっかけとなった音楽家の福田基さんです。

長年にわたり障害を持つ人々のアート活動を支えてきてくださったGentlyの皆様への感謝のために作成した動画「Winter Story」のために制作した楽曲です。

Artist Profile

  • Aoi Sasaki

    A visual and sound artist based in Hokkaido, carrying an innate animistic worldview and lived experience of schizophrenia , a condition that brought with it the dissolution of a fixed sense of self. After being discharged from a psychiatric hospital in 2002, she began drawing her beloved animals with whatever colored pencils were at hand, as a way of questioning what it means to be alive. She later moved to Nibutani, Hokkaido ,a community with a significant Ainu population , and then to Sapporo, where she began composing for piano. In 2022, the band in which she performed and composed was selected as a finalist in the Sapporo City Jazz Park Jazz Live Contest. In recent years she has also been creating video art.
