  Gboyz is an artist collective formed in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture. Set apart from the noise of the big city, they grew up alongside the Tsugaru Plain, where Mt. Iwaki rises in the distance. The cherry blossoms of Ashino Park, the boisterous Tachineputa festival on summer nights, autumn dusks dyed in gold, and the long winters of one of the snowiest towns on earth. Raised side by side with the colors of the four seasons and untamed nature, these six are heading toward the next generation. On this land where even places to play were few and far between, they remained so-called country boys, yet never let go of their dreams. That upbringing is exactly what drives their music. Speaking their own Tsugaru dialect, they carve their unvarnished words and the reality of how they live straight into sound. The crew's name is taken from the G of their hometown, Goshogawara, carrying the meaning of moving forward while shouldering their pride and origins. It all began when member KOH and FUKI, now active as a hairdresser in Tokyo, resolved to start it, and the crew is made up of close-knit friends who all came from the same technical high school. The six members are steez, KOH, bov, YHUGGRACE, 99-DUNK, and Gig Chagxra. Individuals with diverse talents such as rappers, beatmakers, engineers, and visual and graphic artists come together and operate while crossing the boundaries of their roles. The backbone who steers the team's direction, steez, presides over the group's overall sound as beatmaker and producer. KOH, active as a rapper, makes melodic flow his signature and takes the lead at the forefront of music production. Displaying his many talents as a rapper, beatmaker, and engineer, bov generates the team's flow, while his twin brother YHUGGRACE, a rapper who combines hard rhymes with a distinctive flow, propels the crew forward. Long the group's mood-maker who has always hyped the others up, 99-DUNK started rapping a little later but stirs up a tailwind with lyrics that bring out his individuality. And Gig Chagxra, the last to join, also handles graphic art and fashion styling, taking the helm of a crew with its sights set on activity overseas. An unshakable identity that only they, raised side by side with untamed nature in the countryside, could portray. Their lyrics are etched with everything: the days spent on the land of Goshogawara, their youth at technical high school, and the time walked together with their crew. "From our hometown Goshogawara to the world." Gboyz are seriously drawing out that grand story, advancing step by step from the land of Tsugaru. With their eyes set on the global stage from their local roots, how they will evolve through their music going forward is something you won't be able to look away from.
