Artist Profile
blockhead
The band Blockhead, was formed in the early 90's, performing in live houses in and around Tokyo. They regularly held their own project "enjow(Up in Flames)" , and Blockhead evolved into a "live band" thru their aggressive live performance.. In 1996, the band took part in various omnibus albums such as V.A "japanese mosh bulls",live and V.A "street new brand". In the same year, they released a full album from the band record label, "Level 9", a lable run by Taifu-Ikka" member Mr. Horikawa. While the band's musical direction was gradually changing, they joined V.A album "farm" in 1997, before pausing their band activity. During this period, the members continued their own musical activities and the original member guitarist passed away. In 2016, The band welcomed a new guitarist, and restarted with an aim to build a more direct and tight music experience. In 2020, the band released their original sound track in 25 years, with a 5 track Mini-Album "Somewhere else...". With the 5th new member guitarist joining the band, Blockhead is evolving and progressing to purse their musical direction and expression.
