Haiki is a Japanese emo/punk/indie rock band.

After a standout performance at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '21 ROOKIE A GO-GO stage that garnered massive attention, Haiki made the sudden choice to go on hiatus. Leaving a lasting impact on the indie scene, the band entered a long period of silence.

Eight years since their 2019 EP Noroshi, the band has finally reunited. Having spent the intervening years building their foundations in projects like ANORAK! and Bearwear, the members return with a more massive and refined sound. With the addition of new guitarist Pri-pu (ex-yubiori), Haiki has evolved into a powerhouse of melodic twinkle-emo, defined by intricate, intertwining twin-guitar layers.

For this release, the band enlisted mixing engineer Junta Hayashi, a cornerstone of the Japanese indie-emo scene known for his work with malegoat, falls, and The Firewood Project. The result is a sound that blends the essence of their past experiences touring with U.S. bands like Tiny Moving Parts, Homesafe, and Stars Hollow with the nostalgic, powerful aesthetic of early 2000s Japanese rock bands like the pillows-creating a signature style of fast-paced, high-intensity short tunes.

To mark their comeback, Haiki will embark on a Japan tour with U.S. punk band Heart to Gold starting April 15th. Eight years later, the signal fire is lit once again.
