    TOKYO (Full Ver.)

    SO-SO

SO-SO reconstructs [TOKYO], the lead track from his 2025 album <SO-SO SPINS TOKYO>, into a full-length version and releases it as a single. Originally limited to a first-verse structure on the album, the track now expands its scope significantly with the addition of a newly written second verse and extended arrangement. The once fragmentary image of the city is redefined into a fully conceptual piece, gaining a more layered and critically engaged perspective.

While continuing SO-SO's signature methodology of building the entire track solely from human beatbox, the sound design evolves into something both mechanical and organic. Through repetitive rhythms and a minimalist structure, the track sonically captures the cyclical nature and sense of stagnation inherent in urban life.

In the newly added second verse, phrases such as "a slow-acting two-dimensional poison" and "the pressure of imposed diversity" are layered to expose contradictions and conformity pressures embedded in contemporary society, further intensifying the track's critical edge. At its core, the recurring question - "How do you reject the post-apocalypse?" - functions not merely as a thematic motif, but as a provocation that demands active choice from individuals living in the present.

By employing the highly physical medium of beatbox while engaging with urban theory and critical themes, the track suggests new possibilities for expanding the framework of club music. For SO-SO, "TOKYO" is not simply a depiction of a local city, but a metaphor for contemporary society itself - where information and desire are excessively amplified. - and a work that interrogates resistance and agency within it.
This full-length version not only brings the central themes of SO-SO SPINS TOKYO into sharper focus, but also stands as a piece that acquires new depth and interpretive strength on its own.
