Autumn leaves scatter in the wind. Everything you fought so hard to hold onto - gone, like torn paper drifting into silence. And yet, from somewhere deep within the wreckage, a voice begins to pray: "i hope...that light will find its way through the dark."
Kessyo is an original three-part choral work by Japanese singer-songwriter Yuiko, built on nothing but voices and piano - and that simplicity is its power. Beginning in stillness, almost expressionless, the music slowly builds until the final movement erupts with raw, primal energy - something ancient, something wild.
Optional arrangements include Irish harp, viola da gamba, and Irish flute, weaving Celtic textures into a deeply Japanese emotional landscape.
Sing it transparent. Sing it hollow. Then, at the end - sing it like your life depends on it.
A crystal formed in despair. A prayer that refuses to break.
