I've always had a habit of thinking of my past and future selves as strangers.

When I was going through a difficult time, what I feared most was my future self denying my pain.
"I was so weak back then."
"I was so spoiled back then."
Imagine my future self becoming too strong, and it terrified me to no end.

I started composing music so that my future self wouldn't become like that. I've written songs as a way to preserve my painful experiences while keeping them as fresh as possible.
If I do that, I feel like I can tell my future self, "I'm in such pain."

And now I'm almost 20 years old. I'm old enough to call myself my "future self."
I wrote this song with the desire to prove to my past self that I've become a kinder person.

"You've been hurt so much."
I'm truly happy to have been able to write these words.
May these words turn into rain and rain down on you, the one who is struggling and suffering.
