I was approached by the artist Watanabe Hikaru to collaborate with him. This is the song I created for that purpose.
Watanabe has a truly wonderful sense of art.
He is an incredible person who has won numerous awards in various artistic fields, including painting, origami, and original calligraphy.
The theme of the collaboration was "The Tale of Genji" to match Watanabe's work (painting, origami).
I usually write lyrics to suit modern times, so to be honest, I was very nervous.
And above all...
I'm ashamed to say that I had never heard of "The Tale of Genji".
First of all, when I was imagining the paintings that Watanabe had painted, "purple" was one of the themes, so I wanted the chorus to express "color". I remembered a poem I wrote a few years ago, which is a piece that I hold very dear. That is the chorus of this song.
I also used archaic words (memories, going, maple leaves, etc.) and seasonal words (east wind, autumn high, etc.) in the lyrics.

For a more detailed explanation, please see the "explanation" in my article on the "note" app.

This time, I created an old-fashioned song, which was a very valuable experience for me.
