A trio consisting of Yuka Yanagihara (Pf), Yoshiki Yamada (Bs), and Ryo Noritake (Ds). Around 2007, at Yanagihara's suggestion, the trio held a series of sessions in the classroom at Berklee College of Music, where the three students were enrolled. In 2008, the trio performed at her senior recital. In 2013, they performed live in New York, USA, followed by a recording session at a studio in Philadelphia. In 2014, Ms. Yanagihara released her first album "Remember My Places", which is also her first work. In 2015, She won second place in a competition organized by Kanazawa Jazz Street. Five years later, in 2019, she released the 2nd Album "Inner Views". "Silence" included in this album won the Jazz Audio Disc Award 2019 Melody Award from the magazine <Jazz Critic>. Since bassist Yoshiki Yamada lives in New York, the band continues to tour once or twice a year when he temporarily returns to Japan, but they have been consistently touring live and recording sessions. The trio plans to release their third album in August 2023. Yuka Yanagihara Pianist and arranger. She graduated from Berklee College of Music Jazz Composition Major, and performed and recorded live in Boston, New York, and Pennsylvania. After returning to Japan, she has performed and recorded live in Boston, New York, and Pennsylvania, in addition to leading her own piano trio, She has participated in various bands and recordings regardless of genres. Currently,she is active in two bases in Tokyo and Osaka. She not only performs but also composes and arranges music. Yoshiki Yamada was born and raised in Nagoya, Japan. He studied piano and electronic organ at an early age with his mother, a popular local piano instructor. When he was in elementary school, he performed the electronic organ for many regional music events. At age 14, Yoshiki started to play the electric bass. He studied techniques of the bass by himself during his junior high school days. Also he participated in several choral competitions for piano. In 2006, Yoshiki accepted his scholarships and moved to Boston, MA to study jazz and composition at Berklee College of Music. Here, he met and collaborated with many influential professors and highly acclaimed musicians such as Hal Crook, Matthew Garrison, Greg Hopkins, George Garzone and Joe Lovano. Now Yoshiki performs regularly with several internationally acclaimed bands and independent musicians such as, American Patchwork Quartet, Clay Ross, Clarence Penn, Noah MacNeil, FKA jazz, Trew Culture, Marcus Machado, JSWISS, The Blue Dahlia, Bobby Blue The Balladeer and the Radiators, Ayumi Ishito Group, Hajime Yoshida trio and many others. Ryo Noritake Born in Nagoya, Japan, Ryo Noritake first encountered the drums at the age of 14. He was influenced by heavy metal and hard rock, but gradually gravitated toward jazz and improvised music. After studying at Koyo Music Academy and Berklee College of Music (B.M. Summa Cum Laude), he received his Master of Music degree from William Paterson University in New Jersey. After returning to Japan, he worked mainly in Nagoya before moving to Tokyo around 2014 to broaden his activities. He believes in playing with a strong sense of timing and texture, and participates in live performances and recordings with a variety of musicians.
