A work by the German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706). This piece is widely known as the so-called "Pachelbel's Canon", but it is actually the first half of the original "Canon and Gigue in D major". A canon is a musical form in which the same melody is repeated in succession, akin to a "round" in singing. As indicated by the original title, "Canon and Gigue in D major for three violins and basso continuo," the piece features three violins cheerfully repeating the melody while constantly supported by the flowing bass line - a composition that may seem simple at first glance, yet possesses a profound and captivating charm.
In this release, the four parts are performed by layering the piano sounds from Ascend (Heavyocity) and Noire (Native Instruments).
Studio M produces music as a new way to experience classical music, faithfully preserving the composers' original scores while using sound to create new appeal in the music.
