Shigeno, the bassist and synth player for the Tokyo-based post-punk band Luminous 101, has started a solo project under the name shigarashige.
This is an independent project where everything from recording to mastering is done in my home warehouse.

This song, ``Tropical Cold Machine,'' is a song that combines a tropical beat with the cold sound of a spacey synthesizer.
The inspiration for the production comes from the tropical trilogy and techno works of Haruomi Hosono, whom I admire, and while being influenced by that, I also use modern Lo-Fi, loop guitars, modular synths, and noise created by glitch effects. These elements are incorporated into the song, which is cold and spacey, but has a warm feel to it.

    Shigarashige is an original electro project by Shigeno, the bassist and synth player for the post-punk band Luminous101. All music production, from recording to mixing and mastering, is done in his home warehouse. He uses a unique process that uses hardware synths. Poppy and spacey sounds influenced by great techno music such as 80's Soviet techno and YMO, as well as a nostalgic LoFi effect give the work a unique atmosphere.
