Hiroko Konishi's "Dark Sun" conveys the harsh reality that "innocent children around the world await freedom and peace in conflicts and wars." Hiroko Konishi, who is deeply saddened by the daily tragic news, composed and wrote the lyrics from the perspective of children experiencing tragedy in the streets.
Amidst the sunlight pouring onto the Earth, what obstructs it? Children should be free to live under the blue sky. However, this song depicts how the dark world spreading in the corners of the city obstructs the children, who are flowers of hope, from flourishing. The sad scenes of that city are encapsulated in the lyrics, evoking poignant moments like a fierce storm scattering rose petals.
Using her unique folk guitar folk-rock sound (drums, bass, piano, etc.) and a style that doesn't rely on amps or plugs, Hiroko Konishi delivers strong emotions alongside her singing through her own acoustic performance.
Through this song, the message conveyed is to embed the sad reality in the lyrics and to emphasize that there is hope in the future, which should not be altered by anyone's convenience.
