It all began when I went out for drinks with my younger brother, who lives in Chiba.
I moved to Tokyo telling my parents only that I was going to pursue music, never mentioning that I was rapping. So I had never let my family listen to any of my songs as nisemono.
The things I had been through, the things I had never told my parents, the pain, the sadness. I had laid those feelings bare in my songs, and I thought they would only make my family worry.
While catching up with my brother over drinks at an ordinary izakaya, he suddenly said,
Mom has been listening to your songs. But apparently, she starts crying halfway through and cant bring herself to finish them.
I didnt quite know how to feel.
Without my knowing,
my mother had been listening to my music.
I realized how deeply I was loved.
That day, I decided to write about my family.
