vVeSt's second EP, "5", is finally here. vVeSt describes this work as "emotional excretion."
This EP is a collection of songs that naturally emerged from the experiences and events of the past four years since the release of their first EP, "4."Struggles with chronic illness, living on the edge, and the pain of chasing a dream "I'd die all day"and "Dream ate my life"lay these emotions bare with shocking honesty.
In "Shine"and "VVeSt,"vVeSt declares, "It's not about what you have, but what you can do,"and "Love is everything."Meanwhile, "Mitoke" (which means "Just Watch") is a statement of defiance a vow to turn everything around. The raw line, "I just wanna end those disrespectful attitudes and my crew's part-time jobs,"captures an intense hunger for success.
The final track, "Thank you, my pain."closes the EP with these words:
"My pain, my suffering days of rain,
Thanks to you, I can gain."
Even the moments of deep despair become fuel to move forward.
The artwork was also created by vVeSt, a physical collage of photos representing the past four years. It was then photographed with an iPhone and used as is,serving as a critique of modern society "In this era, people's lives can only be conveyed through smartphone screens."
This EP is a raw and unfiltered reflection of vVeSt's life.
Facing despair, finding hope, and pushing forward
Witness it through your ears.
