Lyric

Holding my umbrella against the neon glow

Walking through the city where the neon rivers flow

Waiting at the signal, looking 'cross the street

Never thought in a million years this is where we'd meet

Through the falling raindrops and the passing cars

I saw a familiar shadow under distant stars

Time stood completely still right there in the crowd

Two different lives now, hiding what we feel

You look so happy in the silver rain

You look so peaceful, free from all the pain

Smiling from a distance, pretending we are fine

Living separate stories on this divided line

Across Midosuji in the pouring rain

We caught each other's eyes and looked away again

If I could turn back time to where we used to be

I'd run into your arms and never set you free

Wish I could start over, but we both know it's too late

So I'll just pray you're happy in your brand new fate

I thought I had forgotten every word you said

Down in Minami, all the dreams we shared

Heading north to Kita, carrying my own regrets

Hiding all the loneliness and the things I can't forget

The truth is I am struggling every single day

My heart is breaking in its own quiet way

But seeing you today just brought back the light

Remembering the love we had, burning so bright

Across Midosuji in the pouring rain

We caught each other's eyes and looked away again

If I could turn back time to where we used to be

I'd run into your arms and never set you free

Wish I could start over, but we both know it's too late

So I'll just pray you're happy in your brand new fate

I forgot how sweet it felt to be in love with you

But I'll never forget how happy I was too

The signal turns to green, the crowd begins to move

We have nothing left to prove

Across Midosuji as the rain falls down

Two lost souls in this big Osaka town

I won't call your name, I won't reach for your hand

Some dreams are meant to end just as we planned

Thank you for the memory of the love we used to share

I'm glad you're happy... even if I'm not there

Rain on Midosuji

Goodbye, my yesterday

I'll never forget that happiness

Be happy, my love

Goodbye... in the Osaka rain
