XAMIYA will release their debut single "HOTARU" on August 28th. The lyrics are by AIRI and Juliana Chahayed, the music is composed by YUTA, and the arrangement is by Taydex, with the recording done in Los Angeles, USA. The cover art is self-produced.

AIRI comments, "In a world where encounters and farewells are repeated, everyone feels lonely at times. I believe many people have felt the loneliness frequently mentioned in the lyrics of HOTARU. Unlike happiness or fun, loneliness is an emotion that can't be shared with others. That's why I hope that listening to this song can connect lonely people. Just thinking that there are others who feel the same way in the darkness can make a small light appear. That light is this song, HOTARU."

The song features lyrics like a storybook about a lonely princess locked in a castle visited by fireflies, and a sound that combines indie rock reminiscent of The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys with hyperpop elements. The music video for "HOTARU" will be released on XAMIYA's official YouTube channel at 6 PM on the day of the release. Directed by Danbabeboo, who is active in Japan's youth scene, and featuring special effects by Strangeloop Studios, who have worked with artists like The Weeknd and Blackpink.

The duo has been energetically performing live even before their first single release. Their live performances have been selected for the TuneCore Japan Spotlight, making their future activities worth watching.
