Thunder Dharma Disco, the ninth album by Hikari no Senshi Nachos, will be released on June 6, 2025.
A disco pilgrimage of the soul, carved by lightning-like sound.
Short, intense, beautiful, and humorous
*Thunder Dharma Disco* is a new album built from a rapid succession of short-form music capable of changing the listeners world in an instant.
The album consists of 23 tracks, each running approximately one minute long an unusual structure that condenses poetry, anger, love, laughter, confusion, and salvation into compact bursts of sound. The result is nothing less than a manifesto of the soul roaring like thunder.
Where Thunder, Dharma, and Disco Intersect
The title *Thunder Dharma Disco* is more than just a musical direction; it is the core concept of the work itself.
Thunder represents impulse and sudden force.
Dharma symbolizes cosmic law and spirituality.
Disco embodies the body, rhythm, and celebration.
Within this album, these three elements collide and communicate through the universal language of rhythm.
Years spent living in India, experiences organizing music festivals, caring for stray dogs, performing throughout Japan, and countless small realizations found in everyday life all of these experiences have been transformed into poetic language and experimental sound.
The result is a crystallized universe that resonates within 60 seconds.
23 Micro-Universes Exploding Instantly
The track titles alone such as INOCHI INOCHI INOCHI,KOMEKAMI,and KORE WATASHI NO TARE leave a strong impression, but the music itself cuts even deeper.
Despite the one-minute limitation, nothing feels wasted. Yet these songs are not driven by impulse alone. The words constantly shift between rhyme and meaning, piercing the listener differently with each replay.
Tracks such as DOSUKEBE and OH MY KANZEI USA dance lightly between humor and social commentary, loosening and shaking the listeners existing sense of values.
The short songs function almost like poems, while the sequencing of the album resembles a mandala guiding listeners inward on a journey through their own consciousness.
Experienced from beginning to end, the album feels like twenty-three bolts of electricity striking directly through the heart.
Music as Prayer
A strong sense of prayer flows throughout this work a celebration of life itself and the mystery of rhythm through music.
More than simple self-expression, the album often feels like a ritual, connecting both artist and listener to something larger than themselves.
Nachos continues to organize music festivals in India every year while also feeding and providing medicine to stray dogs in the streets. Through these actions, he has consistently blurred the boundaries between music and real life and that spirit naturally seeps into this album as well.
Chaos and silence.
Festivals and loneliness.
Spirituality and humor.
Elements that might appear contradictory are all embraced equally, eventually resonating together.
*Thunder Dharma Disco* presents a bold new possibility for what music can become.
