Scizor a.k.a. EnTai has always turned the ordinary moments of everyday life into melody. On "The Future Hyperpop Grandpa Keeps Dreaming and Singing About Everyday Life," he goes even deeper, distilling the emotions, memories, and experiences behind those moments into an eight-track mixtape.
Created during the first creative slump since the beginning of his music career, the project was built around confronting himself, his music, and the everyday life that surrounds both. Beat production, recording, mixing, and mastering were all handled by Scizor a.k.a. EnTai's longtime collaborator and genius engineer, fla-fula. The result is a sonically cohesive mixtape that seamlessly moves between different styles while maintaining a unified identity throughout.
The songs are more personal than ever before, with many reflecting a romance he experienced during this period (it never worked out, unfortunately). As a result, the mixtape features a stronger focus on love and relationships than any previous Scizor a.k.a. EnTai project.
The closing track, "Hyperpop Grandpa," elevates the mixtape beyond a simple reflection on himself, his music, and his everyday life. By offering a glimpse of the artist he hopes to become in the future, the project encourages listeners to look beyond the present and imagine the road that still lies ahead.
From drink bars and wavy hair to a movie theater drink holder, internet memes, and unfulfilled love, the mixtape transforms seemingly ordinary moments into something deeply personal through Scizor a.k.a. EnTai's unique way of connecting ideas. Blending diverse sounds and unexpected topics into one cohesive body of work, this mixtape stands as the clearest expression yet of his artistic identity and his unwavering commitment to turning everyday life into music.
An artist from Akita and based in Tokyo. With the final goal of "manga original author and rapper", he continues to explore his own style of expression. Put "like" straight into the lyrics, and spin words that stick in the listener's heart with a specific scene description and introspective perspective. Unfounded by genres and styles, freely express themselves on a variety of sounds. While building a different worldview for each song, it makes you feel a consistent core. From 2024, it moved to Tokyo and began to release in earnest. In 2025, it will continue to increase its presence with continuous song releases and live activities.
