Mr. Green EEL

I am an eel.
I have no name-
Or to be more precise, I have had countless names.
While drifting along the corridors of the galaxy, I was once called Nai-Kuru in ancient Sirian tongue. The children of the Pleiades whispered Kormonon when I passed.
And on Earth, an old fisherman muttered quietly, almost to himself, ''Perhaps this is a dragon god."
That name, I think, is the one I liked best.

But really, names don't matter.
I swim.
Through space, through time, through dreams.

''Nameless one,"
a dream once murmured to me on a windless night,
''Within you, the world is folded."

Perhaps it's true.
I am an eel.
And yet, I am also the bearer of memory, the keeper of dreams, a distant fragment of the dragon god that holds up this galaxy.

Tonight again, a dream ends,
and a new universe begins.
There is no name for this awareness,
but still, it holds meaning.

And so the world is spun once more-
just a little,
but enough.
