Widow is a reimagined version of the very first original song written by Takumi Hayashi, reconstructed through his present-day perspective.

Incorporating field recordings captured across different parts of the world, the track draws inspiration from old rock, folk, and traditional Irish music, creating a sound that feels both warm and quietly melancholic.

Built around the idea that everyone carries their own loneliness, which is why we seek comfort in one another,the song blends lo-fi, organic arrangements with intimate vocals, gently accompanying the listener through everyday life.

Artist Profile

  • Hayashi takumi

    A multi-artist and singer-songwriter from Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Influenced by ethnic music and jazz, his music is characterized by a boundless and highly original style. In addition to performing all instruments and vocals, he is also involved in the creative direction of his artwork and music videos, pursuing a free artistic approach that transcends genres and conventional forms of expression. In February 2022, he released the EP Yaei. The same year, he received the Special Award at the ESP School Guitar Vocal Contest and was selected as a finalist in the Vocalist Contest. In March 2023, he released the full-length album IN BLOOM. After organizing and performing at self-produced shows in Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Yokohama, he embarked on a cross-country tour across the United States in October. In 2025, he released three consecutive singles over three months. In June, he held a five-city tour titled Le Lien, and in August he performed live in the UK, continuing to expand his activities both in Japan and internationally.
