ICE BAHN New Album is finally released.
Seven years since the previous work. Inside the timeless and isolated creative space SOUND HILLS STUDIO, nearly the entire process from planning to recording was completed. The studio is operated by their own label HAMMER HEAD RECORDS, which boasts a history of more than 20 years. As with their previous works, this album was created under a thoroughly self made system, resulting in a project deeply marked by independent spirit. Of course, all tracks are by Gyokuro, KIT, FORK and BEAT Bugyou.
The featured artists are composed exclusively of members of the crew Ura IB, who unveil themselves with this release. From their home of Kanagawa, the lineup includes CORN HEAD, a leading figure in the Yokohama reggae scene, Yokohama representative rapper Kuun, and their longtime ally TSUBOI, who has been with them since their early days. In addition, from HIKIGANE SOUND of Gifu, who are releasing an album around the same time, VAAK, Bonto and Rekko also appear on the project.
After taking countless risks and still alive, ICE BAHN 6th Album SURFACE will be released on March 9, 2026 from HAMMER HEAD RECORDS, presented solely under their own banner.
ICE BAHN is a Hip Hop crew from Kanagawa, Japan, consisting of three MCs, Gyokuro, KIT, and FORK, along with beat maker and live DJ BEAT Bugyo. Each member began his career around 1996, and the group was officially formed in 2001. To date, they have released five full-length albums, two mini albums, and one each of a single, 12-inch vinyl, and 7-inch vinyl. Through numerous collaborations with a wide range of artists, they have earned strong acclaim and support from both the overground and underground scenes. Their presence in the MC battle scene has been particularly outstanding, leaving a definitive mark on the history of Japanese MC battles. Their distinctive style continues to inspire many followers and exert a strong influence on the culture today. Beginning with their appearance at B-BOY PARK in 2001, they expanded their national recognition through appearances on TV Asahi's Freestyle Dungeon. Member FORK later became a regular cast member on the show as one of its Monsters. They have also contributed music to major corporate and large-scale projects, including commercial music production for JA Zen-Noh and providing songs for the multimedia project Hypnosis Mic. In 2025, they created the slogan song Yokohama Dasshu for their hometown's professional baseball team, the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. In 2026, they released their sixth full-length album, SURFACE. Even now, ICE BAHN continues to evolve independently within the scene.
