Using sound as stage design, and music as a device that regenerates thought and aesthetics,
this is the first album by the music/visual project A Concrete Mur,
exploring the intersection of structure and perception.
Starting from a contemporary sensibility in which the distance between subculture and mainstream culture has collapsed,
the project attempts to reinterpret underground theater through sound alone.
Sonic experiments, fragmented pop elements, and distorted forms of festivity interfere with one another,
while three vocalists, spoken word, and language arranged as signs
give rise to a single structure across the album as a whole.
A multidisciplinary art collective that constructs language as signs and sound as stage design, presenting an expanded field of perception. Centered around Takaaki Nishimura (FOXPILL CULT), Kouya Juusangatsu (ex. Kaiten Hyakume), Mari Komoda (Seigo Showa Office), and Sui, the project began experimentally in 2020 under the name ACM:::. After five years of recording and production, the group released its first album, MEISHIN, in 2026 and returned to its original project name, A Concrete Mur. Drawing on the members' deep involvement in Japan's underground theatre scene, A Concrete Mur develops new forms of expression as a contemporary form of post-underground. Rather than treating each member's activities and works as fixed, completed products, the collective approaches them as documents that continue to be rewritten through recording, reenactment, and falsification, making the very boundary between work and reality itself the subject of its practice.
