Lyrically, I explored the conflict between the "coolness of being cynical" and the "beauty of being honest." Towards the end of the song, I deliberately shifted the tense of regret from past to present to reflect its ongoing nature.
This is a song where I processed a past romance and set those emotions to an alternative sound.
