Across the Strait Tang-e Hormuz (feat. Gre-chan)

    Meow-Meow Band

"Across the Strait Tang-e Hormuz" is a Middle Eastern heavy metal track built around a tense call and response between English backing vocals and a romanized Persian lead vocal.

The song turns the conflict of "let them pass" and "I will not" into a ritual-like vocal duel. English lines such as "Let them pass" and "Open the gate" collide with Persian lines such as "Raah nemidam" and "Dar ra mibandam", creating a dramatic pass-or-block theme over the Strait of Hormuz.

Musically, the track combines heavy down-tuned guitars, galloping metal rhythm, fast double kick drums, deep male choir chants, and a dark ocean atmosphere. Persian-inspired melodies, virtuosic tar shredding, rapid santur runs, kamancheh ornaments, oud tremolo, tombak rolls, and daf hits add an intense Middle Eastern identity.

The instrumental sections push the song further into epic metal territory, with neoclassical shred guitar, ultra-fast alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, and a dramatic duel between electric guitar and Persian tar.

This is a cinematic metal anthem about passage, fear, fire, and the hope that the sea can remain free.
