Although this is out of season, the motif for this song was completed around June 2025. I revised the chords and lyrics as I continued my composition studies, and it is now finally complete and released.

I believe the cherry blossoms hold a special place and distinct memories for every Japanese person. They symbolize the season of new beginnings, featuring both fresh encounters and heartfelt partings. For parents raising children, the cherry blossoms in April coincide with entrance ceremonies for nursery and kindergarten, and commencement ceremonies for elementary school and beyond, making the season rich with memories.

Every April during the cherry blossom season, we look up at the trees and take photos together as a family. While I am naturally happy to realize and celebrate my child's growth each time, I can't help but feel a touch of sadness when I think about them growing up and eventually leaving home. Am I the only one who feels this way? Especially when a child advances to elementary school (at seven years old), parental accompaniment to school stops, and they start doing many things on their own. This moment, unlike previous Aprils, makes the rapid passage of time even more palpable, making you feel, "Wow, they've already gotten this big."

This song captures the delicate emotions of a parent-the simultaneous joy and bittersweet feeling-that comes with a child's growth.

Lyrics Translation
"Seven-Year Cherry Blossoms - Lyrics"

(1st Stanza) This year, you know, They bloomed earlier than last year. The cherry blossoms we look up at together-it's the seventh year. As we stand side by side and gaze up, I'm made aware of how quickly the years fly by. I remember that time when I lifted you up To take a picture with the blossoms, We smiled together, cheeks touching. Holding those memories close to my heart, I raise a toast to this spring's new beginning.

(2nd Stanza) The sunlit spot is overflowing with light, And the flower-wind gently rustles. The cherry blossoms that bloomed beautifully again this year, Illuminating the surroundings even at night, Watch over the new beginnings of so many people. We always took pictures Right next to the cherry blossoms, didn't we? This year, your hand can reach the flowers. Thank you for letting me raise you. Let's look at them together again next year.
