The 1980s Bubble and Working Styles
NagiSaza
Japanese information programs and videos sometimes feature content that looks back on the glamorous bubble era of the 1980s.
However, the bubble era also had its dark side, and I thought it would be good to have a song that deliberately focuses on this aspect.
This song tells the story of the work style of a young employee during the 1980s bubble era.
The background and outline of the story are as follows:
The 1980s bubble era was a time when Japan was booming.
In part, the long working hours of office workers were a major factor in supporting this boom.
Mr. B, one of the young employees at a certain company, was also busy with work every day.
Long hours included overtime and working on holidays.
Work also included unpleasant tasks like organizing drinking parties and doing odd jobs.
If he felt unwell during regular working hours, he would somehow recover by the evening and work overtime.
In this way, his salary was topped up with a lot of overtime and holiday work pay.
Mr. B thought it was fine as long as it allowed him to save money.
Is this, in a sense, a benefit of the booming bubble economy?
However, Mr. B ends by uttering words that cast doubt on this point.
This work tells this story as a song accompanied by electric guitar sounds that exude a retro atmosphere.

I started my solo career in 2024. In March of the same year, I made my digital debut with the single "Fragments of Luster". I release new songs almost monthly, and their 10th song is "Impermanent Getaway". My basic concept is to create new music that is somehow unique but easy to listen to, that seems familiar yet doesn't seem like it.
