KAITEN-SUSHI (English)

I made this song with a lot of fun.

The original Japanese title is "Juunin Juiro" (10 people, 10 colors), but the English title is "KAITEN-SUSHI".

There are two versions of this song, one in Japanese and one in English.
The lyrics have the same meaning, but the melodies and arrangements are different, so please listen to both!

The title "KAITEN-SUSHI" is a fun title that is memorable, even though it has nothing to do with the lyrics, just like the English title of Kyu Sakamoto's famous song "Ue o Muite Arukou" (Sukiyaki).

The lyrics are not directly related to sushi, but some of them are reminiscent of sushi and sashimi.
I didn't use the name sushi, but used it as a metaphor to express the diversity and individuality of people, like the toppings on sushi.

The lyrics include the phrase "My girlfriend is a tuna."
In Japan, "tuna" is a slang term for a woman who doesn't react at all when touched or caressed during sex. It's like a dead fish on a chopping board.
The word choice is a deliberate homage to the theme of sushi, and the English title "KAITEN-SUSHI" playsfully matches the lyrics.

Just as there are many different types of sushi, each with their own taste and texture, people are wonderfully diverse.
"Ten people, ten colors" - life is just like a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

Just like my favorite song by Kyu Sakamoto, "Ue o Muite Arukou", has a completely unrelated English title "SUKIYAKI", I chose a fun and unrelated title after my favorite Japanese food.

The lyrics themselves are not directly related to sushi, but there are some phrases that faintly remind you of sushi and sashimi without using the word "sushi".

For example, there is a lyric that goes "My girl is MAGURO". In Japan, "maguro" is a slang word for a woman who doesn't react at all during sex and sits still like a dead fish on a cutting board. It's not a very flattering word, but I used it intentionally to get a little closer to the English title "KAITEN-SUSHI".

Just as there are many different types of sushi and flavors, there are many different types of people.

In that sense, don't you think the phrase "ten people, ten colors" is like a conveyor belt sushi restaurant?
