dUb MaFfia - Leftover
Titled after the idea of "leftovers," Leftover is an eight-track album that mixes previously unreleased recordings rediscovered from older sessions with newly recorded material created for this release.
Heavy bass, dub, ambient textures, and improvisation come together to capture the experimental spirit of dUb MaFfia.
The journey begins with the floating atmosphere of "Melt in Space," moves through the gentle groove of "Happy Hapiness," the direct message of "GAZA - STOP THE GENOCIDE," and the unpredictable energy of "Mad Piano."
"Meditation," featuring drummer Takashi Numazawa and CD HATA, opens a deep and spacious soundscape built on repetition, silence, and subtle movement. From "Red Sun High" and "dUb MaFfia SE" to the closing track "Midsummer Dream," the album continues to move beyond the conventional boundaries of dub.
Old recordings, new recordings, fragments of sound, memories, and ideas are gathered together and reshaped into something new.
Leftover is a reconstruction of sounds left behind across time, expressing dUb MaFfia's free-form and psychedelic NEW DUB STYLE.
dUb MaFfia Formed in 2007, dUb MaFfia originally performed under the name ZION DUB. Driven by the idea of creating a form of dub that had never been heard before, the band blends dub with reggae, dance music, improvisation, and a wide range of other influences. Heavy, rolling basslines, floating melodica, deep echoes, and live dub mixing come together to create a different sonic landscape at every performance. Through low-end pressure, space, and improvisation, dUb MaFfia continues to develop its own "NEW DUB STYLE," taking listeners on a deep and ever-changing musical journey.
