the world

101A

What a clear sky

No one needs to cry

To be sad

The end of the world

101A return with a new four-track release, 3rd Not Album "bone 'n' ash".

The title track, "bone 'n' ash," unfolds in 7/4, charged with speed and tension. "roar" moves through a slow, heavy, shifting rhythm, where guitar feedback and scratches collide with spoken vocals and screams. Driven by sharp drums and layers of syncopation, "the world" delivers the most immediate rock energy of the four, while "Sketch of Zero" begins with a quiet, weighty guitar phrase and gradually opens from an introspective landscape toward a sense of light.

Though each track takes a distinctly different musical approach, a common thread runs beneath them: loss, mortality, the sense of a world coming apart, and a gaze toward life that continues beyond it all.

"bone 'n' ash" and "Sketch of Zero" grew from the same lyrical sketch, yet developed into two entirely different pieces of music. "the world," meanwhile, turns its gaze outward, confronting a present increasingly scarred by war and conflict.

These four tracks were not originally conceived as a single conceptual work. "bone 'n' ash" first existed simply as the title of an event, before the words unexpectedly found their place as the title of an unnamed piece in 7/4. From that moment, something that had been lying beneath the individual songs began to emerge, bringing them together as one work.

Four songs, looking upon the same landscape from different places.

"bone 'n' ash" captures the contrasts at the heart of 101A - stillness and motion, coldness and intensity, and the light that exists somewhere beyond them.
