Odd Donuts
Odd Donuts will release a new single "HIDEOUT" on June 23 as their first song.
Odd Donuts is a unit consisting of Kosuke Miyata and Hiroshi Nakajima, who are the same age as each other. Miyata made his major label debut in 2013 as vocalist and guitarist of nicoten, and in recent years has also demonstrated his talent as a writer, participating in the creation of songs for Sexy Zone and A.B.C-Z. Nakajima has been a live support guitarist for his childhood friend Yonezu Genji since 2014. He also participates as a recording member on some of the songs.
The song "HIDEOUT" was chosen as the first song to be distributed for six consecutive months, and it is one that gives a very strong sense of the great things that are to come for the up-and-coming Odd Donuts.
The song was written by Kosuke Miyata, a member of Odd Donuts, supported by Yusuke Yoshida (Dr.) from tricot and Emi Okamoto (Bα) on bass, who is active as a solo artist as well as a member of Friends, The album was recorded and mixed at Aobadai Studio by Masayuki Yoshii, who has worked with PEOPLE1, ano, BialyStocks, and other artists.
The jacket was designed by 3DCG artist Yuhei Kobe, a member of the creative group PERIMETRON led by Daiki Tsuneda. The overall design was directed by Tetsuya Okiyama, who has worked on art direction for MONO NO AWARE, Hitsuji Bungaku, and others.
This work is based on a home-recorded demo created by the two artists, and features pleasant synths and vocal chops, a simple yet catchy and addictive melody, and an ear-catching chorus that will have you humming along with the floating, soft voice before you know it.
The lyrics, written as a hideout (HIDEOUT) for hidden feelings between a man and a woman, are catchy and grab the listener's heart with one phrase, and the chorus is original, yet has a simple warmth that is unique to Odd Donuts, making it a strange pop song.
Visualizar of the song by Yuhei Kobe will be released on Odd Donuts' YouTube channel at 9:00 p.m. on the day of its distribution release.

Miyata is known for his outstanding sense of melody and lyrics that accurately capture the hearts of listeners; "Gyutto," for which he co-wrote the lyrics with Sexy Zone's Fuuma Kikuchi, was performed at the 68th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen in 2017 and received a great response from viewers other than fans of the group. Nakajima began learning trumpet and piano at the age of 8 under the influence of his jazz-loving father, and was first exposed to guitar at the age of 13. He has been sharing music with his childhood friend Yonezu, with whom he has been playing in bands since their school days. Miyata's roots are in the city pop music of Eiichi Otaki and Tatsuro Yamashita, while Nakajima has been the closest supporter of Yonezu, who has broken out of the vocaloid scene and is now at the top of the J-pop music scene.
