You could've called, you know before it got too late
You could’ve waited until you heard what I had to say
I'm one of the few who’s not afraid of you
And I don’t know much but somethings I do
Like little things make a difference sometimes
And it's little thing that save us not miracles
We could’ve called them miracles together
We could’ve been each others heroes
Well you can't hide anymore but I sure hope
That you found your peace somewhere
I never really believed in heaven but now I know
There must be a place for you
So rest in peace my friend, rest in peace my friend
I used to love the times you’ d call me late at night (And I enjoyed the times)
It’s like you knew somehow I’d be lying still awake
I should’ve told you the trouble I was in
How I felt so lost how scared I was
The place I used to live in is no longer there
But it’s OK cause things change for better or worse
I’m not ashamed that eventually we drifted apart
We didn’t need to explain, it’s just how it was
But I can’t tell you anymore that my new place
Has a shitty view like before
And I’m still searching in the mirror from time to time
For reasons to hate myself
You’d laugh at me and say I guess somethings don’t change
I wonder sometimes if you would’ve picked up
If I called you at the perfect timing that night
Clueless to what you’re going through
You’d hate to see me regret these things so I won’t
But I wish I knew what went through your mind
Before you closed your eyes and kissed the world goodbye
‘Cause I can’t tell you anymore that my new place
Has a shitty view like before
And I’m still staring in the mirror from time to time
For reasons to hate myself
Rest in peace my friend
Rest in peace my friend
Maybe someday I’ll sing
That song you told me to sing
Rest in peace my friend
Rest in peace my friend
