"URAMI-addiction" is the new single by samayuzame, a DIY singer-songwriter and graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts.

samayuzame writes, composes, and arranges her music, and also handles the visual direction herself. Her sharp sensibility and meticulous sound production create a distinctive artistic world that comes through in this track as well.

The song is built around the theme of "darkness meets children's song." It continues the artist's recent focus on being hurt, portraying the state of replaying a painful moment over and over, unable to break free. Sampled birdsong is scattered throughout the track.

Speaking about the title and the sound, samayuzame says:

"I'm the type of person who holds grudges, and sometimes I find myself recalling unpleasant moments almost pathologically. When I looked back on that state, I thought, 'This feels like an addiction.' That realization became the starting point for this song and its title.
The idea of sampling birdsong came from listening to musique concrète. I used it to evoke the image of a secret garden in my own mind being destroyed by outside intrusion."

Artist Profile

    Self-taught in DTM from the age of 14, she began her musical career on platforms such as Niconico Douga. She started out in earnest as a singer-songwriter in 2018 and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2021. Today, she handles every aspect of her work herself, from songwriting, composition, and arrangement to branding and music video production. Her specialty is mysterious, dark music rooted in electronica, which she calls "Melancholic Art Pop." Beyond her exceptional skills in composition and arrangement, the fragility and strength of a resolute woman living in the modern age, wordplay that is both violent and beautiful, and meticulously crafted sound draw listeners into an unsettling, bewitching world. She also works as a music creator under the name Itoi toe. As head of cocoon records, the label behind both identities, she creates original works that refuse to be bound by the "conventional." Her credits include songs written for Isekaijoucho and Haru Nemuri, scores for feature films, and soundtracks for video games, with her work spanning a wide range of genres.
