Why do people repeat the same mistakes, even though they know better?
They have no money.
It's not good for their health.
They'll regret it tomorrow.
Yet, desire trumps reason, and people continue to walk towards pleasure.
"Pig" is a song that depicts the weakness and endearment of such human beings.
The motif is Iekei ramen, known as a soul food of Yokohama. However, this work depicts more than just appetite. It's about temperance and impulse, regret and happiness, self-loathing and self-affirmation. It's about humanity itself, wavering between these two extremes.
Because Boroboros has members from Yokohama, they were able to depict their love for local culture and self-deprecating humor. Through the image of being drawn to a rich bowl of ramen, they bring to light the "things you can't stop" that everyone harbors.
It's funny, yet a little painful.
It's silly, yet somehow relatable.
This is a love letter to Iekei ramen, and also an anthem of support for people who continue to lose to their desires.
Despair, irony, impulse. A rock unit that pours the ugliness and emotions of humanity into a heavy, powerful sound.
