This is the first standalone solo release from Cony Plankton guitar/vocalist of the Japanese all-female alternative band TAWINGS and her first fully self-produced track. Known for a sound that connects garage rock, post-punk, shoegaze, and psychedelia, TAWINGS performed at SXSW 2018 and have supported international acts on their Japan tours including Japanese Breakfast, The Lemon Twigs, and Goat Girl.

Under her solo moniker, Cony has also released collaborations with key artists from overseas. She previously teamed up with LA-based sibling duo Always You (Anton & Christoph Hochheim) on All I Wanted Was You, produced by Jerry Paper (Lucas Nathan) of Stones Throw. Always You have supported acts such as Beach Fossils and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, gaining attention across the US indie scene.

She also collaborated with Robert Tawny, the solo project of Robbie Wood guitarist of UK band Swim Deep, who have toured with The 1975 on Like A Fool, a release that highlighted her distinctive songwriting and vocal presence beyond the band format.

For this new single, Cony teams up with co-producer Jun Murakawa (mixing credits include Nine Inch Nails and Tool) and brings in nakayaan of Mitsume on bass. The result refines TAWINGS raw, genre-crossing energy into a more intimate and direct statement marking a bold new chapter for Cony Plankton as a solo artist.
